It's Raining Stimulus Checks!

It's Raining Stimulus checks! Well, we've been having so much trouble getting the second stimulus check now we're going to get multiple stimulus checks? This is unbelievable we get this check and then a little bit later on we get another check and they're giving $2,000 to everybody? I'm thinking about the statement that says when something sounds too good to be true it usually is. So with that point, I am going to wait and see if we get these checks. Americans need the money, we definitely do we need multiple stimulus checks so people to get back up on their feet and be able to work and pay their bills and schools get back started and get on this virus. So much is needed for the American people to get back in the race again, so I really do pray that these stimulus checks do come through. Multiple stimulus checks? Congress has duped us before, we don't want to be duped again. So as an American, I going to wait and see. I'm going to hold my thoughts until I see those stimulus checks come forth for the American people and really start doing things for America like they should have been doing a long time ago. It's amazing that they only had enough money for the $600 stimulus check, so I wondered where is this money coming from for every qualifying Americans to be able to receive $2,000 checks, and even more in the future, and retroactive checks for those who missed out in the cares act? This is a promise from the new administration but will it actually happen? Just what exactly going on behind that closed door of Congress? If it’s really going to rain stimulus checks? If it does, I hope it’s a downpour!

Congress/ Take It Or Leave It Attitude

Well, we’re at a standstill now. It’s a battle of wits between the President and his Congress President Trump wants each American to have 2000 dollars to meet their needs and help stimulate the economy, while Congress thinks we Americans should settle for 600 dollars and a promise from them for more stimulus later. Are we suppose to believe them after letting them dupe us for several months with lies, saying that our stimulus package was coming. How can we trust them now. They still want to give our taxpayer money to all these programs that have nothing to do with the American people. Many think we should trust Congress, and the President should pass the bill, while others think promises are not guarantees. There have been too many lies hidden from the people. Are we still so blind not to see that Congress is not for the people, but for their own selves, writing bills that are not going to benefit our country, but others? I say no! My eyes are wide open now. Whatever happens, if they pass it and we only get 600 dollars, then it’s our own fault for not seeing what’s in front of us. We have no excuses now that it all has been revealed to the Americans what’s in this bill. We the Americans are always the last to know the real truth. The last to be thought about, or be considered when the chips are down. How many times are we going to close our eyes, and pretend all is okay, when our hearts cry for a better day, to truly experience ourselves the “American dream” that drives others to our country. These are hard times, a large stimulus is definitely needed to help us meet daily needs throughout this virus. Congress seems to have a“Take it or leave it attitude.” They think we should shut up and be happy that they are giving us $600, while they give the rest away. This is not acceptable, not for me, and I hope it’s not for you either!

Up In The Air, It’s A Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Superman….No, It’s Congress!

This may sound familiar. It was part of the opening for the Superman series of long ago. Superman was a mythical character that hid behind the man Clark Kent, a mild-mannered reporter who did good and helped people. His motives were always for the good of Metropolis where he lived. Our Congress has hidden their alter motives of what they were really doing by saying they were getting a stimulus package ready for the American people when in reality they were secretly fixing to give away the American people’s tax paying money to foreign countries. Millions were going to countries that don’t care for America at all. So many millions that there was nothing left for us but $600 dollars. Such a travesty. They fixed the bill with over 5 thousand pages and gave their members less than five hours to read it. They wanted them to just sign it, not read it to see what it really said or know where they really had in this bill. Well, their false Superman cape has fallen off, and we the American people know who they really are, and what they really think of us. They think we are so naive that they can push anything over, and by us, thinking that giving us scrapes will satisfy us. How sad a Congress we have, and we put them in the office to protect our welfare when in reality they are not protecting us at all, l but favoring others who will foster and benefit their seats there. So sad that lies become a part of their everyday speech. To stand in front of a television camera and openly say one thing, and mean another, and do it with a straight face. As Americans we should be upset with this Congress, they have been duping us for years and we didn’t see it until now. They want to look good in the eyes of the world, pretend to be good samaritans helping other countries when they won’t even help their own people. This just may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and opens the eyes of the American people to a sad truth. Politics is a dirty business, and we Americans need to start cleaning house!

Crumbs From The Table Of Congress!

We get Crumbs From The Table Of Congress! Well, Congress has finally passed the stimulus package bill over 5,000 pages yet only $600 has been allotted for the American people. This is a sad thing to see. They said that there was nothing left to give to the American people. Well, there was nothing left to give after they gave everything to everybody else. To the big businesses, to all kinds of different programs, and we were the last we get the scraps from the Congress table. I think it's pitiful! I was reading yesterday where is New Zealand a lady posted they got $600 a week every week until people went back to work and she wondered why America, which is a financially prosperous country cannot do that. How could they only give their pe
ople $600? Well, ma'am, I'm wondering that too. I think it's awful, that's why I think we need a new Congress we need to get rid of all of them and have a whole new Congress. I don't have faith in Congress anymore after months of false hope and so many lies to the American people. They've promised for over several months that they were going to fix the stimulus package for the American people they see people losing their homes, can’t pay their rent, and about to be thrown out of their apartments. They can't buy clothes, they can't feed their families, and school are closed because of the virus. The restaurants are closed, and then they're saying, American you can make it on $600. They have to first take care of these big big big big business that’s what’s important to them. That's what's wrong with the country we're so caught up on money, in their eyes are dollar signs, and looking good in the eyes of others who have power. They put the people last. They want to keep their position in Congress. The problem is that Congress is divided, and I don’t mean by House & Senate, but by pride. Each wanting to out show the other. Each wanting to say they are making things happen for the country. Battling like they are children in order to have their way no matter how long it takes, or how it affects the American people. And who put these people in these seats in Congress? We did. Congress is supposed to be for the people of the people, by the people. They are not for the people. They are all wanting to look good, wanting to show they have the power to govern our lives when they don’t even know how we live. Saying what’s good for us to live on and survive when they are fat and flourishing themselves, not touched by the Americans they are supposed to represent. I am very disappointed in our government I love my country but I do not love the ones that are running it. We need a definite change. Congress needs to grow up and quit acting like little children!

Merry Christmas To Everyone!

A funny little video me and hubby made to wish yo all a very Merry Christmas!!! God Bless you all!!!

Congress/ "It's Business Just Business"

Congress / “It’s Business Just Business!” iI's going to be a very poor Christmas for many families in the USA, with no gifts, or very few gifts. Many families will be going to the Salvation Army to give their children gifts the only way they can afford to do. Families can't be together for the holidays because of the Coronavirus, Congress will not suffer at all during the Christmas season. They will have a wonderful holiday. They will have plenty of food, without going to a food pantry to get their fixings for Christmas dinner. They don’t have to worry about standing in food stamp lines or running out of the necessities needed to survive during these troubled times, and no funds to buy them. They are not watching the news hoping for that stimulus check they were promised several months ago. They have their jobs (Which by the way, we pay for) Yes, for them it is “A Wonderful Life” They can go home to their families have big meals, and feel safe, tucked away from the world’s troubles, while the American people suffer and cry with their jobs taken away because they can’t work or where they work is closed because of the virus. They really have no idea how the American people feel because it’s not affecting them personally. Politics is their baby. Getting what they want and leaving the American people out in the cold with promises never being fulfilled. For months now we have been hearing this phrase “The stimulus checks are coming, the stimulus checks are coming ” Now that boat has sailed, it’s lost at sea, and like the Titanic, it has sunk. Congress is the Scrooge we see, able to alleviate the world of its ills, but too stingy to do it. Congress like Scrooge says’s “It’s business, just business.!”

Freedom Of Speech has Changed!

Freedom Of Speech Has Changed! In the USA, we are blessed with the freedom to speak our minds and our thoughts. In many countries, speech is limited and is overseen by the government. Many countries do not have the Liberties of our freedom of the press. When our forefathers wrote the Bill Of Rights, they wanted the people to be able to know what their rights were. The rights all were entitled to. This gave power to the people to change governments and other things in our country that were displeasing to them and needed to be changed. Freedom of speech brought truth and power to our world, by the people voicing their opinions. It seems to me that today freedom of speech means something totally different. It’s no longer based on the issues that are facing our country, but more on the background of people who are running for offices in our Government. Lately, all I hear on television, radio, podcast, are defamatory comments about the person. Comments that are so bad that it makes a person not want to select that candidate, which is the true intention of those who are speaking these comments. We to become judges of that person when we truly know nothing about them, except what we have been told. We hear about all the things they say their families have done, their waste of finances, their children. nothing is off-limits. I think we need to stop and think about what freedom of speech was made for, and why it was put in the “Bill of Rights. It wasn’t to tear down a person’s background, family, or self-image, but to foster change in our country to make it a better place to live. Tearing down a person’s image can only foster hate, chaos, and confusion, as we have seen too much of that lately. Let’s value our freedom of speech, but never to the point of defaming others in the eyes of a watching world. We wouldn’t like it either if those things were said about us, and others didn’t really know who we really were, but judged us by the words of others. We need to stick to the issues we’re fighting for, watch our language, and leave their families out of it!

The Old man/ All Lives Are Precious!

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value. Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital. One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem. And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet. Cranky Old Man What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see? What are you thinking .. . when you're looking at me? A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise, Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes? Who dribbles his food .. . ... . . and makes no reply. When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!' Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do. And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe? Who, resisting or not . . . ... lets you do as you will, With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill? Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see? Then open your eyes, nurse .you're not looking at me. I'll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still, As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will. I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother, Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he'll meet. A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap. Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep. At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own. Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home. A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast, Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last. At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone, But my woman is beside me . . to see I don't mourn. At Fifty, once more, .. ...Babies play 'round my knee, Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me. Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead. I look at the future ... . . . . I shudder with dread. For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own. And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known. I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel. It's jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool. The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigor, depart. There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart. But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells, And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain. And I'm loving and living . . . . . . . life over again. I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast. And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last. So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see. Not a cranky old man . Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. .... . ME!! Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within. We will all, one day, be there, too! PLEASE SHARE THIS POEM (originally by Phyllis McCormack; adapted by Dave Griffith) The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart!

Our News Networks Need A Balance!

I've been thinking a lot about all that's been going on in our world today. I've been listening to the news, watching the reports on television, reading the newspaper, and listening to the radio. We hear about all the riots, anger, hatred, murders, and racism. All the news is bad, and it makes you want to run and hide that you are living in this world with such turmoil. The older people fear for their lives and are afraid of the Youth of today, the gangs, and the power they seem to have in their cities. They wonder when their lives will end, and how? will they be taken out by gangs, or will this virus kill them instead? While the youth want their voices heard and if it takes riots, and violence, then so be it. They want to let the world know who they are through many different avenues, and often gangs become that avenue. The economy is bad, jobs can’t be found, and often there is prejudice in hiring. Our world for many has come to a boiling point that spills over into violence, hurting so many others. Our Government programs have so much red tape that it’s difficult to get the help that’s needed. People are frustrated and begin to act out. There is so much good in the world, but we only hear about the bad. Good is happening all around us, if we just open our eyes and look. People, I mean people that are hurting are helping others like themselves, doing good deeds like giving food from their own cupboards, giving clothing, supporting others by opening their homes to them when they have no place else to live. But we hear very little about this, only once in a while. It’s the bad news that sells and seems to capture the world, and all these networks want to stay on top, so we hear the bad more than the good. Yes, I know the news is supposed to report what’s going on in our world, but they need a balance and report all the truly good things as well. And there are a lot of good things happening out there. A lot of good people doing good things, let’s hear about them to give hope to the world, and not so much chaos and fear!

The True Meaning Of Christmas!

The True Meaning Of Christmas Christmas Time Is almost here, for many this will be a Christmas like no other. We must stop, and really think about what the meaning of Christmas is really all about. It's about the birth of Christ, love, and compassion for others. The pandemic has caused many problems in our world today, that has affected everyone. With the holidays coming up, we see the true effect of the pandemic. Many will not be able to afford Christmas trees, or presents. Many, will have to stand in lines at places like the Salvation Army, food pantries, to just be able to survive. The pandemic has taught us one thing about the holidays, it's not the gifts or the presents that really matter, it's family. It’s getting together, laughing, talking, and sharing memories. Some family members have passed on because of the pandemic, and we truly realize their importance and value to the family now that they are gone. Children will realize their gifts are not so important when there's no food on the table, and the plate is empty. We need to really stop and reflect on the true spirit of Christmas, which is helping others and showing compassion, love. Just being together, that's Christmas. In the Bible, we read the story of Jesus’s birth, and how there was no room for him in the inn. Now, we realize how it feels to have no place to go, no room because the rent can’t be paid because there’s no work and you are laid off. But many are helping others, many are showing compassion, many are showing love, to strangers that are not of their family, during these troubled times. Many are realizing we are all in this together, and we all belong to the human race. that's the true spirit of Christmas. When we think about the movie Scrooge, we see how he was changed by dreams, flashbacks of memories of his childhood, and certain things that he didn't know truly affected him, and made him the man he was. He had to stay at school while his classmates went home to their families which secretly affected him deeply. He saw how others were suffering working for him, and he never understood until he came face to face with himself, and his mortality, and where his future was heading. Let’s remember the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. Perhaps we all need to take a little trip back in time like Scrooge did and look into other people's lives, take a peek and see how they live and may have suffered at our hands when we had the power to make their lives better. Let’s look at ourselves, and make a change this Christmas because no one should feel alone, or unloved at Christmas when we all have the power to help others in some small way. We can do this!!

Why Do You Write?

Why do You Write? That's a question every writer should ask himself. Do you write for the love of writing, for the story that's within you that has to get out, for the passion and sheer joy of just seeing your book in print? Maybe you've gone to a bookstore and you have seen books on the shelves and you looked at some of the covers and read the blurbs on the back, and have thought to yourself, I could do that. Is that what makes you want to write a book? Or perhaps you read some books and you thought they published this? I could write better than that. Is that the reason that you write? Or maybe you have something that you want to tell, something, that would benefit society and help someone else? is that a reason you write? These are questions that you should ask yourself, but in the end, the answer should always be because you have the love of writing there's a passion in you that you love to put words together and bring meaning to them and help them to reflect your feelings about the world. Or maybe show other people that they are not alone in this world, that you are suffered or going through a lot of things like they have. You must decide why you write, don't just write for the money. Some people do write for the money. They see books on the shelves, Romance Books, how-to books, fantasy books, sci-fi books, and know the famous author’s names and think they could make a lot of money like these people if they wrote a similar book. That's never the reason to write a book. Money should always be secondary, or third for writing a book. You should always write because you loved it. Write because you have the passion, a thirst that can’t be quenched until you put it down on paper. So I asked you today why do you write?

Politics, The Road To Wealth And Fame!

As I am writing this article I don't want anyone to ever think that I don't love my country. I love America I think it's the greatest country in the world and God has blessed this country so much. I would not want to live anyplace else but here. But, I don't love the politicians who are running our country. Men seek to get into politics I think in the beginning they really do want to help the American people to get their needs met and they make lots of promises to the people if they can get in office. But, something happens between the promises and when they take office. Somehow they forget the promises that they have made when they get in the midst of all the other people that are seated around them, either Senators or Representatives like themselves and they caught up in the glitz and glamour of that life and they forget the districts that they came from and the promises that they made to those people. They start to be prideful. They begin to think they are somebody important, more important than the “LittlePeople” they are representing and they want to stay there for as long as they can. They like the money, the position, the feeling of importance, and plus the people are supporting them financially too. It’s the brass ring they have been looking for and now they have it all. It seems to be a never-ending cycle where we put them in and they do nothing for us. When election time comes around again we still look for that man/or woman that we hope will do what they say they will, if not we will keep searching. Our government seems to be plagued with men & women who lose their perspective along the way and forget why they were put into office. It’s not to travel and spend the taxpayer’s money on expensive things like houses, cars, boats, mistresses, or put into their own pockets. They were put in office to serve the people, not to glorify themselves!

The Blame Game

The Blame Game! There’s a new game going around in congress, it’s called the “Blame game.” Congress has been playing this game for some time now. The people have been waiting for their second stimulus check for several months now. The American people have been waiting for what has been promised months ago when they kept saying “Stimulus is on the way” yet we haven’t got anything yet. Each is saying it’s the fault of the other. The House and the Senate can’t seem to agree on anything. One wants a large package, the other a smaller package. While we the American people still sit waiting as homes are in foreclosure, jobs are lost, people having to go to food pantries to feed their families. And the virus is hitting hard. What’s wrong here? Other countries that are not as wealthy as we have already given their citizens many checks by now, but America can’t seem to give us a second check. Congress is not suffering as the people who elected them are. They sit in their seats unaffected by it all. They still have their homes, cars, jobs. They are not feeling the hurt at all, that’s why they can’t emphasize with the American people. They need to walk a mile in our shoes to really understand. If they really understood they would have passed a stimulus bill already. We need to put the blame on them, where it really belongs. They are not concerned because it’s not them who are hurting and stop blaming individuals in congress. They are all the blame, not just one but ALL. Unless something affects us personally we will just take out time in getting something done. So sad for Americans, we put our vote and trust in these people, and they are letting us down. They seem to only want a seat in congress only for the position, popularity, and money it provides, and to look good in the eyes of the people and themselves. Shame, shame on you Congress, shame, shame on YOU!!!

The Pandemic How It Has Made us Better

The Pandemic How It Has Made Us Better! You’ve probably heard the saying that goes like this “you never miss your water until the well runs dry” Well, so many of us would agree with this statement now. Many of us now miss that boring, tiresome 9-5 job we use to go to every day, that terrible co-worker who got on our nerves, the vending machines that took your money buy let your coffee cup empty. The boss who always found something wrong with your work. Does this sound familiar? All the little things that were so annoying to you, now you would give anything to be back at work again, but this pandemic has you at home. Many husbands are understanding how it feels for their stay at housewives, who have to deal with their children, and how they can become frustrated, now that they are a stay at home father. They are jobless, standing in a line waiting for the unemployment benefits, just to make ends meet. And their older parents who had demanded their time, not understanding that they have a job and can’t always be there for them. Now they are sick and might die, and you worry that you won’t be able to tell them how much they mean to you. Oh! Just for another day to see their smile, hear their voice., or just hear the ring of that phone that so often annoyed you when they called while you were so busy. Everything suddenly becomes so important to you, and you pray this will all end so your life will get back to normal. Yes, the pandemic has truly affected us, and we want it to end. But when it does, let’s remember these emotions and feelings we have now and treat others as the valuable gems they truly are, that can so quickly leave us. Let’s remember what life really is all about, love and Family!

Political Parties/Where Do You Stand?

In our Government, we have two parties. Democrats and Republicans. This has throughout history been the cause of much turmoil between many Americans. Each believes their party is the better one. They believe the other party is the cause of many of the problems that we have here in America. But where do you really stand? Many families raise their kids to believe as they do. The children accept it as a heritage. I was raised a Democrat and that was what I always voted. Today I am independent. I vote on the platform they stand for, not for a party. I judge the opponent, not by how he looks, or what he says, (because their speeches are not their own, words they are written by others) but what they have done in the past that has benefited our country. Today we all need to make our own choices, not because our family in the past chose for us, or our friends influence us, but because we judge the platform, the man, and what he can do to better our country. Don’t be a puppet that is manipulated and pulled in different directions. Stand up, speak your voice, but let it be what you firmly believe. Not because someone tells you to believe what you hear, and see on television. But Because you have weighed the facts and made your own choice. In life, you will have many choices to make. You must learn to be you, not a carbon copy of anyone else. The only heart that you can know, and be sure of is your own!

The Effect Of The Pandemic On The Writing Community

The Corona Virus has virtually shut down the world. Everything has almost come to a stop. The virus is everywhere and the only solution is to stay inside to be safe. This has also affected the writer's world as well. It's wonderful when writers can go to conferences, retreats, or be apart of writers groups, where we can share our passion, learn new skills, ideas, and just be together as writers. But not so today. We like everyone else are confined to our homes, where we sit in front of a typewriter, or computer. We so often have said "All I need is time to write, and some peace and quiet" Well now we have it! Often it's not really what we discover we want at all. We need to mingle with others, hear their stories, see the expressions on their faces. All this helps fuel our writing. This pandemic has forced us to become aware of all the things we often take for granted, like socializing with others. How many times have you voiced this silently in your head just for some time alone, without any distractions? Being home can often distract a writer because there is family around and your attention is divided between writing and taking care of other responsibilities, like kids. This can work to your advantage as stories often are forged in difficult times like these. You become aware of things you never saw before. Example. Your kid's actions, their funny facial expressions, or your spouse, the way he or she smiles when you first met. All the little things that were pushed to the back of your mind, that are now coming to the forefront now. Things that make you want to write about and share with the world. Maybe you begin to watch those neighbors who always played their music so loud. You see them doing something nice for another neighbor, and you see that they really aren't so bad after all. They have compassion. You start looking at other people you never noticed before. Your eyes began opening to the world's hurts and the love that's out there. Yes, the pandemic has closed us in, but it has also opened our eyes and our heart to our world. The good that we see and can write about, and share with others!

Where Are Our Stimulus Checks???

Our Stimulus Money/ Where Is It? Wanted to do this little article about our stimulus package. American people have been waiting a long time since the last check-in April. We waited each and every month when they said it was getting closer and closer and they kept saying great news, the stimulus is coming, great news the check is coming, now we're almost in December, and still no stimulus. Other countries have given their people stimulus checks more than one and will continue while we haven’t even gotten the second one. Our government has been so caught up on the presidential election and getting their party into office that they have totally forgotten about the American people I think we need to do something about this we need to talk to her Congressman or representative and get on board and get the ball rolling about this stimulus check Americans are losing their homes, are losing their careers, their jobs. Restaurants are closing, sickness is getting higher and higher with this virus, and still no stimulus check. I wonder just what's going on. Many people think that the President should make an executive order and pass it so we can receive those checks. But we must remember he can only sign the bill. it has to come from the House of Representatives, and the Senate, and these two are not on board with each other. One wants less stimulus money one wants more money, so what is going to happen to the American people? Other countries are watching us, we're supposed to be a country that is flourishing where everyone has a chance to make money and be who they want to be. The people in the higher government offices have money, they're not being touched by this lack of stimulus. The president not being touched, the new president's not being touched, or the people in Congress who are just sitting there in their seats. They have no money worries. Many of them lived behind gated communities they're not suffering for anything but the American people are suffering. This is awful it shows a bad picture of our government and we need to stop and think and make some changes now. Everything lately has been focused on the election that's what has been holding up the stimulus check each one wanting to be the one to say “I did it, I gave the money” it is a battle and they're acting like kindergartners. We need to make a change and put some of these people out of office and show them that we have the power too. We put them in office, and we have the power to put them out if they don’t start doing their jobs for the American people!

The Art Of Healing Through Words!

Our world is in trouble, as I am sure you all will agree. As a writer we have the power through our words to lift others up. To inspire them during these troubled times. So many have thoughts and emotions that they can't express, but we writers can express them for them, letting others know that they are not alone, even if the pandemic has distance us from our family and friends. A book can be a comfort piece during these times. A book can make us smile, laugh, and cry, but yet give us hope. Picking up a book and reading its words that often voice what we are feeling inside, lets us know that we are not alone, someone else cares and has felt as we do. That's why we have so many hotline's for people to call where helpful words can be spoken to them, and pull them out of depression. Words to give them hope. They hear a voice on the other end of the line, a human voice that says "I care." A book often can speak words like that through its pages. Words from your heart to theirs. A voice that says "I've been there, I know what it's like." During these times we need words that will soothe the hurt, and help heal the pain. This is a great opportunity for us writers to speak to a hurting world through our words in books, essays, blogs, articles, even chats. We have the talent and the means to put words together effectively that can touch a heart, touch a soul, and help heal our world. Let's do it!

A Place For Me!

A beautiful poem I just had to share on my blog today.  So many people in this world today feel there is no place for them...they feel unloved...unwanted...of no value to society of themselves, but God has a plan for each life...and in his plan there is a place for YOU! God Loves you...always remember that...Pastor janet
Here's The  Poem.

"There is a special place in life,
That needs my humble skill,
A certain job I'm meant to do,
Nobody else can fill.
The hours are demanding,
And the pay is not too good,
And yet I wouldn't change it
For a moment if I could.
There is a special place in life,
A goal I must attain,
A dream that I must follow,
For I won't be back again.
There is a mark that I must leave,
However small it be,
A Legacy of love for those,
Who follow after me.
There is a special place in life,
That only I may share,
A little path that bears my name,
Awaiting me somewhere.
There is a hand that I must hold,
A word that I must say,
A smile that I must give, for there
Are tears to blot away.
There is a special place in life,
That I was meant to fill,
A sunny spot where flowers grow,
Upon a windy hill.
There's always a tomorrow,
and the best is yet to be,
And somewhere in this world I know,
There is a place for me!"

Are We Next? The Question Of The Old!

In a world that’s changing so rapidly, and not always for the better, we see babies being aborted even before they draw their first breath. I have talked with older people, seniors who are fearful of this world we live in. They fear the young because they feel that the world is geared now for the young, and care nothing for the old, they are merely a burden to be cared for by society. They fear that eventually, society will one day decide when it’s their time to die/ just like they choose the time for babies to die by being aborted. And just like them, one day our world will decide they have outlived their usefulness. To care for them has become a burden on society, and decide its time for them to die. They wait for the time a doctor will stick a needle in their arms and they will be gone. Nursing homes are overpacked, what to do next? Will this be the next avenue our world will travel down in the future? We must truly stop and reflect on this because one day we all will get old, and our time will draw shorter in this world. I have even talked to seniors who sometimes wish to die and leave this world because no one seems to care, and they feel they would not be missed at all. This is very sad for me. Many say they feel like they are already dead because they are so lonely, lack attention, or affection, family members don’t visit because they don’t have the time. It’s a sad, sad, world we live in from the eyes of many seniors I have talked to as a pastor. Where is our world heading, what has become of our value for life? We want our world to get better, but so often it gets worst. It’s a fearful thought to ponder, but we must, because one day it will be us!

The Tongue!

The Tongue A Tool Of Good Or Evil/ A Thought To Ponder! This is a thought that has been in my heart for quite a while, we use our tongue every day when we talk, to speak but what, are we speaking? We so easily say words and never stop to consider the force they have. Our tongue is like a wild horse that can’t be tamed. We seem to have no control over it. How can you speak good things, then speak evil in the next sentence about someone? It’s like a fountain that spurts out water and then poison at the same time. It can’t be done. We need to control our tongues. The Bible says the tongue is a mighty weapon. “The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” That’s a mighty powerful statement about our tongues. We need to stop and think before we speak because once words are spoken they cannot be taken back. Words go deep into the heart of the person whether good or bad. Even if you say you are sorry and the person says they forgive you, still they will remember your words of hurt. Many confess to love and know God, yet they curse others he has created if they don’t fall in line with their way of thinking. How can one go to church on Sunday and praise God, when all week they have been cursing others and speaking badly about others? We must learn to tame our tongues even if the world around us cannot. We must speak words of life, not words of harm. Only God can tame the tongue when we give him complete control of our lives!

All things are possible to him who believes!

* I had to repost this on my blog because it's so beautiful so miraculous and so inspiring. It all comes down to You Must Believe!

"Please Read To The End*
A young man working in the army was constantly humiliated because he believed in God.
One day the captain wanted to humiliate him before the troops.
He called the young man and said: – Young man come here, take the key and go and park the Jeep in front. the young man replied: – I cannot drive! The captain said: – Well then ask for the assistance of your God! Show us that He exists!
The young man takes the key and walked to the vehicle and begins to pray………
He parks the jeep at the place PERFECTLY well as the captain wanted. The young man came out of the jeep and saw them all crying.
They all said together: – We want to serve your God! The young soldier was astonished, and asked what was going on? The CAPTAIN crying opened the hood of the jeep by showing the young man that the car had no engine. Then the boy said: See? This is the God I serve, THE GOD OF IMPOSSIBLE, the God who gives life to what does not exist.
You may think there are things still impossible BUT WITH GOD EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. To the person reading this, I pray the Lord work A SUPER MIRACLE in your life today In Jesus Name I Pray..."

Abortion/What Might Have been!

Abortion/What Might Have Been? I have been thinking a lot about this topic, but in a totally different way than maybe most are thinking. They are usually people that are for it, and people that are against it. This is a different take. This is what I think about abortion. Everyone has the right to choose, that's true and I think that a woman's right’s should be acknowledged, but I think she needs to acknowledge those rights at the beginning of a relationship so that she doesn't have to get to the point where she needs an abortion. I do agree that incest and rape is totally different, but still I believe in pro-life. I believe that a woman that has been raped, or incest by a family member should still have that child and give it a chance to live. It's not the child's fault, they have done nothing they didn't ask to be brought into this world. So that's one thought that I have, then there's another. So many people in relationships they just want to have the fun and the pleasure of a relationship with the opposite sex and then suddenly they find out that they are pregnant and they start to think about all the things they should have thought about before. They may have a career, they don't want to lose their career. they don't have time to raise a child and of course, they never thought that this would happen to them. Maybe they're on the pill or using other forms of birth control, but still, it happened outside of marriage, or in marriage, but the timing is all wrong for them. Usually, the first thing they think about is how this will change their lives and make it worse. So it's so easy to just think, I'll go have an abortion, and in no time it will all be over and my life will be back to normal. But now this is what I think What about that child? How many babies that have been aborted could have grown up to be a benefit to society? They might have been doctors who could find a cure for cancer. They might have been scientists or Engineers. How many potential good things could have come from that aborted a child's life? we need to stop and think. It's so easy to have an abortion, but you're taking a life A life that could mean something to the world we need to stop and think about that. And another thing, we need to think about what the world would be like if our parents had aborted us. Maybe they had more kids than they planned for, and they thought I don't want another one, but they went on with their pregnancy and you live today. We need to stop and think about that. It’s so easy to say abort a baby, but we never stopped to think about the results that abortion can mean. Maybe you don't see it this way, but it is murder. Whatever you're contributing to the world now is because you're here to contribute to the world. That unborn child deserves a chance too. They didn't ask to be conceived, but they should have the right to live and make something out of themselves and contribute to the world. You want to live, they do too. They should be given that chance to do so. So this is my thoughts on abortion we will never know what they might have become because we took their lives away before they had a chance to live and become somebody to our world. Don’t do that!

The Real Enemy!

Our nation has become dived by hatred, race, and political parties. We once were known as the home of the brave, and the free. Now we are known for riots, hatred, chaos, and confusion. We must remember this. No party platform is going to get you to heaven or favor with God. They will not stand with you on the final day of judgment when you stand before God to answer for your decisions of actions. So don't be fooled by what's going on. It's a spiritual battle that's happening now, not an election between Biden And Trump, that's just what we see on the outside. It's the devil's ploy as Jesus said to steal, kill, and destroy our country by dividing & conquering us from within! But be of good cheer. In the end, God wins. So whatever the election results, remember these are just men, flesh and blood, they are fallible, they all promise but in the end break these promises. But God is infallible Never put your hope or trust in any man, only God. So until he comes, live life, be happy, leave all the rest to him, he's able to handle it all!!! Pastor Janet

Words!

Words! Have you ever stopped to think about the power of your words? Well, you should. Words have power. In our world today look all around you. There are billboards, flyers, pamphlets, all these have words that are used to push you forward to take action for something. Words can uplift, cast down, hurt, inspire, or help one get answers to things you struggle with in life. Words can cause emotions that lead others to riot, or making changes for the better. Words can calm a situation down, or ignite a fire in a crowd. Words can unite people, or separate them. Words can foster hate or love. Everything that happens in life is the result of words spoken by others that cause us to do something. The words can be our own, or of someone close to us. Words are often shot out of our mouths like a gun, with no afterthought of what they can do, how they can hurt, or cause pain for the one hearing them.. Words are used to sway others to our way of thinking, and we will use as many as necessary to get our point across. We must stop and think before we use words, and not just say anything we want to say. We should consider how what we say will affect others. Well, my words bring a good result, or cause harm to the hearer? A good example, look at the election. Each party uses words to sway the people to their side. Words that defame the opponent on the other platform running against them. Words that people come to believe and that stay in their hearts and minds long after the election is over. Yes,words are powerful, once spoken and heard, they cannot be taken back. Be careful with your words!

Election Results/ Will It Bring Chaos?

Election Results/ Will It Bring chaos? With the election happening in less than 3 days the whole nation and the world have their eyes on us, waiting to see what's exactly is going to happen in the USA when it's over. Will, there be a crisis, will people riot, loot, steal, destroy property if their choice doesn’t get into office? The clock is ticking, and the whole world is waiting to see the results. We are supposed to be a nation of free speech where everyone has a voice, but that’s not exactly true today. Freedom isn’t accepted if you don’t agree with another’s point of view. This brings troubles in all forms which even the police find hard to control. Tempers flare, people are shot and killed. Cities are finding themselves standing against riot’s larger than they can handle..People are trampling on the right of others. Cities are almost destroyed by rioters demanding their rights by force. The pandemic is spreading for lack of responsibility on those who are doing their “Own Thing” which is causing a spike in numbers and deaths. Businesses are closing because they have no choice but to obey, or are fined. Unemployment is on the rise, people are out of jobs because they have to be laid off because of this pandemic. Many are losing their homes, can’t pay their rent. Stocks are down, people are still waiting for the help the government has promised, through stimulus checks, that have not come through. This is a time that will go down in history, and not be forgotten. It will reveal, who we are as a nation. Reveal what we are all made of as individuals, and reveal our hearts for our fellow man. We are all struggling to survive this time in history. This has truly been a “Time that has tried our souls” This is America today…. and I truly hope as the bible say’s. “This too shall pass!”

Are You A Mentor Or A Bully?

Well, it's day number 5 I want to do this journal just for 5 days to show you some of the things that are in my mind as a writer. The title of this article or essay is going to be about bullying other writers, especially new writers. I'm in a lot of social groups and I see how they do the young aspiring writers. Not all,but a large percent of them are very negative and hurtful to newbies in the groups. I don’t see them mentoring new writers, but giving them only negative responses. They tend to burst their bubble and take away their Joy. You know these aspiring
writers are so happy to share their work with us, looking for the positive feedback that will push them along on their writer’s journey. wonderful feedback. Naturally, they are just starting out and will need help. Sometimes you have to show them the errors in their writings, but never destroy their hopes and dreams to the point where some of them will never recover, and won't want to be a writer. In life, if you’ve ever been bullied, then you know how it feels, and you would hate it if your children were bullied by an adult. As writers, we have to remember not to be a bully when mentoring aspiring young writers. When talking to other aspiring writers we should correct them in a positive way that builds them up, and gives them hope for the future, never tear them down. I see so much of in writers groups that not constructive criticism, but on the plain of bullying and not mentoring. Aspiring writers are learning, they are babes, taking baby steps. and making them feel like they don't know how to write everything is wrong! We didn’t know it all when we first began to write, and we are still learning. Writing is a journey, not a destination. Bullying other authors is not right, it's wrong, and it doesn't show a good side of you as a writer. Be a mentor, not a bully!

A Tin Man

A Tin Man Day 4 So many thoughts today to write in my journal. I was thinking today about the movie "The Wizard of Oz" there are three characters in that story who wanted to have their wishes granted by the wizard of oz. The Scarecrow, a lion, and a tin man. The Scarecrow wanted a brain, the lion wanted courage, and the Tin Man, he wanted a heart. I thought about how sad it is that some people in the world, are like the Tin Man they don't have a heart, so they have no compassion for others. Then there are those whose hearts have been broken, and they don't want to be hurt again, so they wish they were like the Tin Man. in the song I wish I were “A Tin Man” by Kenny Chesney. The words were "I wish I were a Tin Man man, you could hurt me all you want, and I’d never even know.” So sad that so many hearts have been broken in our world today that I’m sure some people wish they didn’t have a heart. They wish they were a tin man, like in the movie “The Wizard Of Oz” The hatred, prejudice, the killings that have ripped so many families apart is overwhelming, to say the least, on every side and in all races. In the future, there will be stories I’m sure that will tell of this hurt in words that will be turned into stories, and novels. It will be a way of dealing with their hurt, as well as telling what others feel who cannot express it in words. This is a sad, sad time in our history. As a pastor, novelist, it breaks my heart as well. See you tomorrow on day 5

The Enemy Within/ Journal Day 3

The Enemy Within Journal Day 3 I'm sitting here thinking today about the world, as I'm sure most writer’s do. I listen to the news, I see all the trouble everywhere, so many riots, so much looting, the killings. It makes me wonder what our world is coming to? I am sure that in the future we will find many writers writing about their experiences during this coronavirus, and the lockdown. I am sure they will talk about their businesses, the layoffs, and so much more. But I see a different picture. This virus has traveled all over the world and affected many countries, not just our own. But there is a more dangerous virus that's on the rise, it's the virus of prejudice and hatred that is infecting our country. It's a virus that is spreading so fast that we don't know how to handle it. We blame it on so many things. We blame it on prejudice, poverty, the judicial system which is supposed to serve and protect us. The deaths of many which are often at the hands of the police have become a problem, as everyone is becoming more frustrated, even the officers, who are often fired upon by the people they are suppose to serve. Many give their lives too. Many officers are placed in the barrel along with the bad cops when they are good cops. We worry about being invaded by a foreign power, so we spend funds on our military to make sure we stay safe, while our real enemy is within our own borders, our own county. We are our own worst enemy. And if we are not careful, it won’t be the foreign powers who will destroy us, but we ourselves!

Second Stimulus Check/ Read it & Weep. It's Not Yet!

Okay guys. Here's the latest on the checks we are all sill waiting for. It's still not a done deal! https://www.cnet.com/personal-finance/why-you-may-get-your-second-stimulus-check-weeks-before-or-after-other-people/

Journal Day 2 Writing Is Like Politics

Journal day 2 Writing Is Like Politics! I was thinking about the politics of writing. Politics and writing are very similar. In the world, we pick and choose who we want to be president, for senators, or mayor's, House or representative. We pick who we think is the best candidate and often those candidates don't live up to our expectations. Sometimes it's like that in writing, so many people pick a favorite person or author that they like and they stick to their books only and often miss the golden nuggets that are in other people's books because they aren't famous. I'm not saying there’s anything wrong with this
mindset but sometimes you need to step out of the box. There’s nothing wrong with reading authors like Daniel Steele, or John Grisham, their books sell As soon as you hear the author’s name you automatically know who it is. So many people like in politics, pick books in that same way and don't give other authors a chance. There are so many good writers out there just like there are so many good people that could run for the government but we never hear about them because we have our mindset in one direction, or on one political group, and we're sticking with that one person, or group regardless of what happens. A lot of times this is the same way with Publisher's, they know certain authors and they know that if they sign them that they're going to make money, even if the story isn’t that good. It’s hard for many publishers to sign an unknown. It’s a risk many don’t want to take. I think sometimes we should stop and get our mindset off of one genre, or author, and become independent, and look around and try other books and other authors in the same gender that you like but just a different author and see how they write. Often you'll be surprised that there are so many good writers out there that are unknown I read books by authors I've never heard of before but who inspired me, lifted me up, gave me hope. I thought, you know I'm going to look for more authors like that, more books like that one. So I’m saying, don't get stuck on one author, or genre there’s nothing wrong with reading other books. Become independent if you like romance or science fiction or westerns or historical fiction historical romance try other authors in that same-gender I think you might be surprised at the books you will discover and like and start reading across genres. This is day 2 of my Journal. See you tomorrow for day 3!

My Writers Journal Day 1

Today I sit here in the living room ( writing my thought as they flow, just writing it all down ) looking out the window getting ready to start my writers day so much to think about I'm heading to chapter 6 of my novel A Journey of Faith, getting the characters, plot, and dialogue together, and most importantly putting emotions so that the people can feel what the character is feeling, that's very important and I got to thinking about other writers. I'm looking out my window here & they are looking out their window too, but we see two different things but yet we're all writers and what we see often determines what we write about. Where we live affects our writing how we feel about the world, and all around us, that affects our writing, so many things affect the writer. I write Christian romance novels I see things from a Christian standpoint but so many in the world see no hope and sometimes that comes across in their writing the way they feel about the world. I've read so many books that have sounded so sad so troubled and then I read books that are happy uplifting inspirational.I tend to be an inspirational writer I love writing Christian romance novels but I always incorporate God into my storyline to show that with God all things are possible nothing's impossible Many things. In this world may seem impossible but with God nothing is impossible, so I give my characters inspiration and hope through their storylines even though they struggle with different situations and things that happened to them, still they have hope because they have God, that's what my messages is in my writing. In my whole journal here today I thought I explained something about that to my readers here on blogspot.com. I want to give people hope this is the troubled world we live in and so much trouble is going on around us and it's often hard to have hope but in my books, I want to give hope to people when they read and see the difficulties can be overcomed. I incorporate difficulties that happened in everyday life but that they will see that there is hope with God if you have faith. As a writer, I think that's what we should do. We should want to make the world a better place by what we were Write, by the words we say because they do affect people, they can move people in different directions they can move them to the good or they can move them to react and be bad I want people to be inspired to move toward a better way of living and I want to show compassion and hope that my books would lead people to have compassion for others it's very important that we love one another you can look at this world we live in so much has happened in the riots, the stealing, the looting, all of that, so the world needs hope we want to pick up a book sometimes just for enjoyment and just relax and think that there's a better way out there and that somehow someway someday it will get better. It can give me hope it can light up my life and make me feel okay That’s what my thing about writing is all about. I want to inspire so I thought I'd just do a little Journal with my thoughts and feelings. This is day one of my journal I'm going to try to do a little 5-day journal on here and let people know what I am thinking how I feel cuz I think when you read a person's novel and the back of her book blurb, it tells a little bit about the author but it really doesn't tell you some of their inward thoughts and feelings because there’s not enough space there, but I think a reader should know something about the author. So I'm giving you a little insight into me how I feel. I think what's important to me it's very important I think for readers to have some insight into the author of that book. Why they wrote the book, what is the message they’re trying to get across I think every writer has a message some may not realize it. So this is day 1, tomorrow day 2. It’s all about me and why I write! If you have any questions please leave them in the comment box below. See you, tomorrow Pastor, Janet Fears the Simply Pure, Sweet, Uncomplicated Christian Romance Writer!

Having Trouble With Show & Not tell?

I am sure as a writer, you've heard the statement "Show Don't tell" it's probably the most difficult thing for new writers to grasp. It can often be confusing. When to show, or when to tell. So maybe we should discuss exactly what meant by show and tell. Here's a quick definition for aspiring writers, from the internet. "What does show don’t tell mean? Show don’t tell describes writing in various forms with an emphasis on using and showing actions in order to convey the emotions you want readers to interpret, which creates a better experience for readers, instead of writing exposition to tell what happened" It is good to have a mixture of both. At times you just want to convey what happened, at other times you want the reader so see it through the characters own eyes, and feel what they feel. You want to show them so they can experience the emotion attached to the situation, which will pull them in and they will feel a true attachment to the character in the story. Example: SHOW- As she approached the house, she began to shake all over. It was haunted she knew this for a fact, and she didn't want to go inside. Tell- She was terrible afraid of haunted houses. In Show the reader gets to experience how the girl felt when approaching the haunted house, she shook with fear. In Tell, We are just told that she is afraid, but we have no emotions that show how she was feeling. Showing draws people into the story and the characters, it is also useful in charaterization, showing attitudes, behaviors and more about the characters in your story. It gives the reader a insight into certain behaviors that they would not normally know, or understand by just telling them in a flat statement. Characters are supose to be like real people for the reader. They must feel, bleed, hurt, cry, feel sadness or happiness, and the reader must be right there so see it and believe it. Give your self time, it gets easier as you write. Watch people more, see how they respone to certain things, often you can read them without them even saying a word. You can tell when they are happy, sad, angry. That's what you want to show when you write, and not just tell!
