A Fast Writer/ Or A Slow Writer/ Which Is Better?

As a writer myself, I often write so fast as the ideas flow, then afterwards, I look at the scribble, and have a hard time understanding what I wrote. Then I go slow, and often lose the ideas before I set them to paper. So which is best? If you are an author I am sure you have experienced this too.
