"That's Life"

" That's Life"  You are probably thinking, what's this got to do with writing, right?  Well life has everything to do with writing.  Life effects us all no matter where you live.  I'm here in the USA, but I see that so many of you live in different countries.  But still we all experience life in the same ways.  It's up's, it's down's.  We all know how it feels to be happy, or sad, to have hopes and dreams of success, and how it feels to be hurt & hopeless at times.  These are universal feelings we all can relate to.  We made have different scenery, speak different languages, but if we were to ever meet we could each relate to each others struggles.  Life has no barriers when it comes to struggles of hardship in reaching one's goals .  Race, creed, or color doesn't separate us, instead it binds us.  As a writer how we see and experience our own particular world effects what we put down on paper. Our life experiences fuel our thoughts, and eventually our stories.   Many famous authors have written their greatest pieces when they were depressed, angry, or sad.   Some examples would be Edgar Allen Poe, who wrote poetry during the times  he suffered with Bio-Polar .  Emily Dickerson had a poor self image of herself and it showed in her poetry at times( Her poem "I'm A Nobody, Who Are You").  And Ernest Hemingway had emotional problems of depression, which he often shared through his writings. And there are so many more who's books you would probably recognize, never realizing the affect life had on their writings.  Yes, life affects us all, and fuels our writing, for the good, the bad, and often the ugly.  Knowing who you are, understanding your own emotions,  and how you see yourself in your world, will show in your writings. Are you happy, optimistic about yourself in your world.  Are you hopeless, depressed?  You must honestly ask yourself these questions.  It will fuel your writing , and make you a better writer.  You can find many books out there today that are positive about life, as well as negative about life, and if you study the authors background you will often be able to see what fueled their passion to write that book, what life offered them,  or that they feel, life didn't offer them.  But, how you see it, and put it down on paper will be you version of life that you are revealing to your reader through your written words, and that version can make you a winner.  That's how success is achieved!
