A Writers Muse!

First.  What does the word Muse mean?  It has two different meanings a writer should understand.  Both definitions are useful, and can apply to a writer.
"As a verb, to muse is to consider something thoughtfully. As a noun, it means a person — especially a woman — who is a source of artistic inspiration."
Both definition we will focus on in this blog entry.
"A muse is a person who serves as an artist's inspiration. Often filmmakers talk about a certain actor being a muse — meaning the actor inspired a movie. Writers, painters, musicians, and other artists have muses. Muse can also refer to thinking deeply. If you muse about something, you're giving it serious thought."
A muse can be anyone, or anything that influences your writing.  It can be a loss love that inspires you to write that great love story.  or a friends  depression after a failed marriage, that makes you want to tell her story to help to  help others overcome their own personal tragedies in their own marriages.  it can ever be a picture, that made a deep impression on your mind that you can't let go of, you just have to write a story for it.  Even music can be a Muse.  A certain tune, of the words can jump start your creative muse, and off you go to write that blockbuster story!  A Muse can be anything you think seriously about, a image, thought that stays with you begging to be brought to life in some way.  You just can't let go of that image, person, picture, or what ever it is that keeps mulling over, and over in your mind.
Whether you realize it of not, you have Muses in your own life.  People, or images, sights, sounds that ignite  your creativity when you write.  Learn to look, and listen, to discover who, or what they are.  Muses foster your ability to create in your own unique way.  Discover who/ or what your muse is, and get to know what fuels your writing!
