Our News Networks Need A Balance!
I've been thinking a lot about all that's been going on in our world today. I've been listening to the news, watching the reports on television, reading the newspaper, and listening to the radio. We hear about all the riots, anger, hatred, murders, and racism. All the news is bad, and it makes you want to run and hide that you are living in this world with such turmoil. The older people fear for their lives and are afraid of the Youth of today, the gangs, and the power they seem to have in their cities. They wonder when their lives will end, and how? will they be taken out by gangs, or will this virus kill them instead? While the youth want their voices heard and if it takes riots, and violence, then so be it. They want to let the world know who they are through many different avenues, and often gangs become that avenue. The economy is bad, jobs can’t be found, and often there is prejudice in hiring. Our world for many has come to a boiling point that spills over into violence, hurting so many others. Our Government programs have so much red tape that it’s difficult to get the help that’s needed. People are frustrated and begin to act out. There is so much good in the world, but we only hear about the bad. Good is happening all around us, if we just open our eyes and look. People, I mean people that are hurting are helping others like themselves, doing good deeds like giving food from their own cupboards, giving clothing, supporting others by opening their homes to them when they have no place else to live. But we hear very little about this, only once in a while. It’s the bad news that sells and seems to capture the world, and all these networks want to stay on top, so we hear the bad more than the good. Yes, I know the news is supposed to report what’s going on in our world, but they need a balance and report all the truly good things as well. And there are a lot of good things happening out there. A lot of good people doing good things, let’s hear about them to give hope to the world, and not so much chaos and fear!

The True Meaning Of Christmas!
The True Meaning Of Christmas
Christmas Time Is almost here, for many this will be a Christmas like no other. We must stop, and really think about what the meaning of Christmas is really all about. It's about the birth of Christ, love, and compassion for others. The pandemic has caused many problems in our world today, that has affected everyone. With the holidays coming up, we see the true effect of the pandemic. Many will not be able to afford Christmas trees, or presents. Many, will have to stand in lines at places like the Salvation Army, food pantries, to just be able to survive. The pandemic has taught us one thing about the holidays, it's not the gifts or the presents that really matter, it's family. It’s getting together, laughing, talking, and sharing memories. Some family members have passed on because of the pandemic, and we truly realize their importance and value to the family now that they are gone. Children will realize their gifts are not so important when there's no food on the table, and the plate is empty. We need to really stop and reflect on the true spirit of Christmas, which is helping others and showing compassion, love. Just being together, that's Christmas.
In the Bible, we read the story of Jesus’s birth, and how there was no room for him in the inn. Now, we realize how it feels to have no place to go, no room because the rent can’t be paid because there’s no work and you are laid off. But many are helping others, many are showing compassion, many are showing love, to strangers that are not of their family, during these troubled times. Many are realizing we are all in this together, and we all belong to the human race. that's the true spirit of Christmas. When we think about the movie Scrooge, we see how he was changed by dreams, flashbacks of memories of his childhood, and certain things that he didn't know truly affected him, and made him the man he was. He had to stay at school while his classmates went home to their families which secretly affected him deeply. He saw how others were suffering working for him, and he never understood until he came face to face with himself, and his mortality, and where his future was heading. Let’s remember the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. Perhaps we all need to take a little trip back in time like Scrooge did and look into other people's lives, take a peek and see how they live and may have suffered at our hands when we had the power to make their lives better. Let’s look at ourselves, and make a change this Christmas because no one should feel alone, or unloved at Christmas when we all have the power to help others in some small way. We can do this!!

Why Do You Write?
Why do You Write?
That's a question every writer should ask himself. Do you write for the love of writing, for the story that's within you that has to get out, for the passion and sheer joy of just seeing your book in print? Maybe you've gone to a bookstore and you have seen books on the shelves and you looked at some of the covers and read the blurbs on the back, and have thought to yourself, I could do that. Is that what makes you want to write a book? Or perhaps you read some books and you thought they published this? I could write better than that. Is that the reason that you write? Or maybe you have something that you want to tell, something, that would benefit society and help someone else? is that a reason you write? These are questions that you should ask yourself, but in the end, the answer should always be because you have the love of writing there's a passion in you that you love to put words together and bring meaning to them and help them to reflect your feelings about the world. Or maybe show other people that they are not alone in this world, that you are suffered or going through a lot of things like they have. You must decide why you write, don't just write for the money. Some people do write for the money. They see books on the shelves, Romance Books, how-to books, fantasy books, sci-fi books, and know the famous author’s names and think they could make a lot of money like these people if they wrote a similar book. That's never the reason to write a book. Money should always be secondary, or third for writing a book. You should always write because you loved it. Write because you have the passion, a thirst that can’t be quenched until you put it down on paper. So I asked you today why do you write?
Politics, The Road To Wealth And Fame!
As I am writing this article I don't want anyone to ever think that I don't love my country. I love America I think it's the greatest country in the world and God has blessed this country so much. I would not want to live anyplace else but here. But, I don't love the politicians who are running our country. Men seek to get into politics I think in the beginning they really do want to help the American people to get their needs met and they make lots of promises to the people if they can get in office. But, something happens between the promises and when they take office. Somehow they forget the promises that they have made when they get in the midst of all the other people that are seated around them, either Senators or Representatives like themselves and they caught up in the glitz and glamour of that life and they forget the districts that they came from and the promises that they made to those people. They start to be prideful. They begin to think they are somebody important, more important than the “LittlePeople” they are representing and they want to stay there for as long as they can. They like the money, the position, the feeling of importance, and plus the people are supporting them financially too. It’s the brass ring they have been looking for and now they have it all. It seems to be a never-ending cycle where we put them in and they do nothing for us. When election time comes around again we still look for that man/or woman that we hope will do what they say they will, if not we will keep searching.
Our government seems to be plagued with men & women who lose their perspective along the way and forget why they were put into office. It’s not to travel and spend the taxpayer’s money on expensive things like houses, cars, boats, mistresses, or put into their own pockets. They were put in office to serve the people, not to glorify themselves!

The Blame Game
The Blame Game!
There’s a new game going around in congress, it’s called the “Blame game.” Congress has been playing this game for some time now. The people have been waiting for their second stimulus check for several months now. The American people have been waiting for what has been promised months ago when they kept saying “Stimulus is on the way” yet we haven’t got anything yet. Each is saying it’s the fault of the other. The House and the Senate can’t seem to agree on anything. One wants a large package, the other a smaller package. While we the American people still sit waiting as homes are in foreclosure, jobs are lost, people having to go to food pantries to feed their families. And the virus is hitting hard. What’s wrong here? Other countries that are not as wealthy as we have already given their citizens many checks by now, but America can’t seem to give us a second check. Congress is not suffering as the people who elected them are. They sit in their seats unaffected by it all. They still have their homes, cars, jobs. They are not feeling the hurt at all, that’s why they can’t emphasize with the American people. They need to walk a mile in our shoes to really understand. If they really understood they would have passed a stimulus bill already. We need to put the blame on them, where it really belongs. They are not concerned because it’s not them who are hurting and stop blaming individuals in congress. They are all the blame, not just one but ALL. Unless something affects us personally we will just take out time in getting something done. So sad for Americans, we put our vote and trust in these people, and they are letting us down. They seem to only want a seat in congress only for the position, popularity, and money it provides, and to look good in the eyes of the people and themselves. Shame, shame on you Congress, shame, shame on YOU!!!
